1. Introduction

Vianotehub (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the https://www.vianotehub.com website (the “Service”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy and applicable laws.

2. Who We Are

3. Information We Collect and Why We Collect It

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

  • Comments:
    • What we collect: When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string.
    • Why we collect it: To help spam detection, manage comments, and display profile pictures via the Gravatar service (see below).
    • An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
  • Media:
    • If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
  • Cookies:
    • Comment Cookies: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
    • Login Cookies: If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
    • Editing Cookies: If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
    • Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense): We plan to use Google AdSense advertising on our website. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (like the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to our website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings: https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Alternatively, users can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices/. For more information on how Google uses data, please visit: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
  • Embedded content from other websites:
    • Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
    • These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
  • User Registration (If Applicable):
    • What we collect: For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile (e.g., username, email address).
    • Why we collect it: To manage user accounts and provide access to member-only features.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data in the following circumstances:

  • Password Resets: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
  • Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), such as website hosting (our servers are located in the United States), spam detection services (visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service), analytics providers, and advertising partners (like Google AdSense). These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
  • Gravatar Service: As mentioned above, if you use Gravatar, your email hash is sent to them.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend our rights or property, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service, protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public, or protect against legal liability.

5. How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
  • Registered Users: For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile for as long as their account remains active. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. * Other Data: We retain other data, such as analytics logs or cookie data, for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
